The normally aspirated petrol engine vehicles can expect 5-7% fuel savings in addition to the power gain. The Turbo (petrol) engine vehicles gets more fuel consumption only at full throttle due to the increased engine load by increased turbo boost. And, Turbo diesel vehicles can get up to 15% fuel saving on long distance constant speed conditions and no fuel consumption difference in heavy traffic in-city driving conditions.
Q: What performance increase can I expect from the ChipCentric ECU Remapping?
With the ChipCentric ECU Remapping to your turbo vehicle, you can look forward to power and torque gains of up to 30%! The addition of the extra power and torque gains a broader performance range is offered by bringing turbo boost on earlier, allowing for less turbo lag and increased turbo boost. This means that you will have your performance earlier and stronger, which is helpful for acceleration and top speed. Normally Aspirated Vehicles :
The ChipCentric tune can offer up to 12% more power at full throttle, but the real improvement lies at part throttle where the gains can be as much as 30%. Part throttle gains improve the drivability of the car and allow your car to perform without having to bury your foot into the floor. We can also make the car much more responsive and lively by increasing the throttle response rate, making your car much more enjoyable to drive.
Turbocharged Diesel Vehicles:
Gains of over 30% are achievable with the ChipCentric tune for turbo diesel models. The marked gains allow you concentrate on the road rather than having to worry about selecting the correct gear. With the ChipCentric tune installed to turbo diesel models the vehicle will pull much stronger throughout the rev range at both full and part throttle. The benefits of more torque means that your vehicle will climb hills, tow and accelerate with far greater ease than with the stock manufacturers tuning.
The turbo diesel vehicles which run long distances at constant speed (highway buses or trucks) can also enjoy recognizable fuel savings up to 15% with the ChipCentric tunes besides the power gain. Q: In which Rev-RPM range does the cars performance increase?
ChipCentric performance upgrades offer a performance increase throughout the entire RPM range. The advantage of this is that the vehicle essentially has a very similar power curve to the standard car, just more throughout the curve, meaning that it won’t have an adverse affect on the power delivery. The ChipCentric offers better drivability in almost all circumstances, meaning that you will enjoy more driving pleasure.
Q: Does ChipCentric remove or extend the Rev-Rpm limiter currently set on my vehicle?
ChipCentric has the ability to raise the rev limiter on many late model engines. The advantage of this is mainly obtained on the racetrack.
The increase in number of revolutions allowed by the engine can improve track times by allowing the end user to shift later, and possibly enter breaking zones at a faster terminal speed. In addition, by revving some engines past the stock cut-off, you can shift into the next gear higher in the torque zone, improving mid-range acceleration.
All ChipCentric rev limit increases are tested and do not allow the engine to be over revved to an unsafe level. A typical increase is between 100-350rpm – depending on the engine, modifications and fuel used.
It should be noted that an increase or reduction in the rev limit will not save the engine from damage caused by missed gear selection and other common over rev occurrences. The ChipCentric will therefore work in the same way as a stock vehicle – however allowing a slight increase in revs for each up-shift if required.
Q: Is it possible to eliminate the top speed cut-out ? What does this do? Is it safe ?
Some vehicles use a factory speed governor that prevents the vehicle from reaching any speed above the preset factory limit. The speed limiter is a set of digital instructions that detects the vehicle speed and limits acceleration at a certain speed. By adjusting the values in the ECU, and raising the speed limiter to set in at above the natural top speed of the car (according to engine power Vs vehicle air coefficient). This allows the vehicle to travel to its natural top speed without hitting a preset limit.
This option is safe for racetrack use; however, ChipCentric holds no responsibility for vehicles driven irresponsibly. We advise the strict adherence to all local road laws including speed limits.
Q: Do you offer a test trial period ?
Yes, ChipCentric offers 7 days trial period after the payment is made. We make full refund if applied within 7days.
Q: Can I return my car back to standard (undo) when I go to sell my car ?
Yes, ChipCentric keeps back ups of all customers’ original files. If you want to turn it to standard, simply make an appointment by calling 04-441-4117. Having the ability to turn the car back to standard allows you to feel safe in the knowledge that you are not ‘locked in’ to having the ChipCentric upgrade in the car and can easily have it returned to standard if the new owner wishes to have a vehicle with stock tuning.
Q: Can I take the ChipCentric ChipTune out of my car and put (transfer) it in my next car, or my friend’s car ?
The ChipCentric program that is fitted to your car is designed for your car specifically. When you purchase the ChipCentric upgrade, you are buying the intellectual property of the performance software. This means that the upgrade cannot be used on another car. In most makes and models the chip can be suited for one car. For example, each BMW has specific theft coding, which means that the chip needs to be individually tailored to suit the car.
Q: Do you achieve the same results for every car or are there variances between different models ?
The performance gain varies between each make and model. This comes down to how conservatively the manufacturer has tuned the vehicle from the factory. The benefit of tuning each model individually is that we can test each car’s limits and in the end have the best product available for you.
Q: Is the chip tune jobs the same for all cars?
Each make and model requires totally different mapping of the performance chip programming. Different makes of cars use different styles of tuning procedures. For example, some vehicle brands use an upgrade procedure called “serial programming”. In this method, it is not even required that the computer is removed from the car. It is a simple process of our technicians plugging their equipment, and downloading the new ChipCentric upgrade into the car. This process takes between 1.5 hours and 3 hours, drive in, drive away.
Some other brands use a different procedure to “serial programming” such as “BDM”, Boot Loader, Jtag, etc and procedures go as follows:
1– Removal of ECU out of the vehicle,
2– Open the protective cover (if necessary),
3– Use ECU specific BDM connectors to connect to ECU board or connection with ECU socket pins or
cable connection on the ECU board with soldering,
4– Read the Standard OEM maps file out of ECU, Write back the MODIFIED MAPS file in the ECU,
5– Disconnection from ECU,
6– Close the protective cover (if opened) with weather seal silicone,
7– Installation of ECU back on the car.
Q: How does the ChipCentric tune change the way that my vehicle performs and operates ?
ChipCentric tune changes various parameters in the chip to get the desired performance upgrade. The most common parameters include:
